Join us for a glimpse into the life of Iceland’s most common, and charismatic, sea mammal- the Harbour seal!
On this tour we will head out on a restored traditional Icelandic oak boat onto the Miðfjörður fjord, home of one of Iceland’s largest seal colonies and part of the
Húnafloí bay where nearly one quarter of the Icelandic Harbour seal population rest, hunt and play. On returning to harbour after a seal filled journey we will enter The Icelandic Seal
Center where the center’s experienced and knowledgeable staff will take us on a tour of the museum to learn more about seal habits and habitats, as well as the role of seals in Iceland’s
history and traditions.
We then sit down for cake and coffee with center staff for an informal chat about seals, and learn the exciting and crucial research conducted in and around Iceland as part of the Center’s
efforts to learn about these incredible animals.
