The Icelandic horse is famed throughout the world for its ability to travel great distances over rough terrain whilst keeping the rider comfortable with its smooth motion. These horse shows will demonstrate the best the Icelandic horse has to offer whilst serving its guests a chef-cooked menu using only local meat and produce.

Join us for this unique opportunity to meet and learn about the Icelandic horse in the beautiful surroundings of North Iceland. Our time together begins on the horse breeding and training farm of Gauksmýri in the famous breeding region called Húnaþing-vestra. The farm, complete with gourmet restaurant, commands beautiful views from its hillside location all the way to the highlands of Iceland. It is here that you will be introduced to the Icelandic horse and its many characteristics and traits. After a visit to the stables we will head onto the patio to see the horses parade their five famous gaits and various riding styles. And don’t worry if the weather is bad, the farm comes complete with an indoor display arena just in case! We then sit down for a wonderful selection of grilled Icelandic meats in the conservatory dining hall followed by a mouth-watering dessert.
