Arnarvatnsheiði is grassy with many good fishing lakes. Arnarvatn is the biggest lake with good angling possibilities. There are few mountain huts to stay in and you find quite good mountain road from Miðfjörður up to the lakes. The highland is great for walking and enjoying the unspoiled nature.
