Church of Hvammstangi
Hvammstangakirkja or the church of Hvammstangi is the main church of the Hvammstangi parish. The church was inaugurated on the 21st of July, 1957, and was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson. Church builder was Snorri Jóhannesson from Hvammstangi. The church stands on high ground by Kirkjuvegur. The river Syðri-Hvammsá runs south of the church.

The church by the farm Tjörn on the western side of the Vatnsnes peninsula was built between 1930 and 1940 from concrete. The church holds 70 to 80 people, and the altarpiece is by Þórarinn. B. Þorláksson, and painted in 1910.

Melstaður is a church in Miðfjörður. First settlement at Melstaður is registered in the 14th century. Arngrímur Jónsson is possibly the most known priest to have lived and worked in Melstaður. Current church was built in 1947.

Staðarbakki Church
The church is located by the farm Staðarbakki in Miðfjörður. The current church was built in 1890 and has space for 120 people. It is built primarily from wood but the altarpiece was donated by Björn Guðmundur Björnsson of Torfustahús. He donated the altarpiece in memory of his son who died of early age. The altarpiece was painted by Eyjóflur Eyfells in the year 1931.
