Sigríðarstaðavatn sits at the bottom of the gulf Húnaflói. It is a shallow and narrow lake, about 6 km long. The lake is open to the ocean and therefor it will get high and low tide. Trout and char can be caught in the lake, and a lot of seal often rest on the beach east of the delta.
